Some years ago, I remember the Highland Festival in Alma, Michigan. The football field was full of bagpipers and the marching band. The lone piper began "Amazing Grace," and then all those other players joined in. The sound went through me and I was moved to tears. Lisa Myworries, Winkie Guard supervisor at the Darwin Ranch up near Deception Pass, needed some time away. She went to the ocean and brought back sea shells (some purchased from Sara's shop at the seashore). In the mix were those things often called sand dollars .
