Teaching Evolutionary Medicine is Worthless

Image
Everyone has a worldview, even if they have not spelled it out succinctly. It involves how they view life, what is important, morality, life and death, and all that good stuff. Descent with modifications is more than academic and scientific parlor talk, it is a worldview. Although evolution fails many tests, people presuppose that it is true and must be a part of their decision making processes. Some physicians have their spleens in a twist because they insist there should be more Darwinism taught in medical school. That should prompt cries of outrage because evolutionary thinking in medical science has actually been harmful , not helpful (see " Evolutionary Thinking Wrecks Modern Medicine "). Yanking out tonsils, adenoids, and downplaying the appendix may have been profitable, but if those doctors had bothered to think that the Creator put things in their places for a reason, patients would have been much better off. So, why isn't evolution taught very much in medical sc

Homicide in Modern Health Care

Image
Under the pretense of personal rights, modern medical treatments include bodily mutilation, the murder of the unborn, and other things that were unthinkable at one time. If suffering animals can be euthanized, so can people. One result of a Darwinian worldview is that humans are devalued . Study on it a spell. Everything came from a common ancestor, and ultimately, "star stuff." Secularists consider people for their value to society, Bible-believing Christians see them as valuable because they are created in the image of God. Abandoned Hospital Monsour Medical Center, Flickr / Darryl Moran ( CC BY-ND 2.0 ) It is now being called health care to kill people. Euthanasia can be invoked because of excessive pain or no hope of recovery. Also, "physician assisted suicide" is when medical personnel provide the means of another person to end their own lives. This can include mental illness, depression, hopelessness, and more. The other day was the one-year anniversary of my

The Fantasy of Apes and the Human Heart

Image
Proponents of universal common descent are highly skilled in the scientific principle of Making Things Up™, and they make lotsa grotzits for it. Peer review approves rubbish , they use bushwa logic to compare human and ape Y chromosomes , etc. The secular science industry is doing a number on hearts. Although they say all life came from a common ancestor, there is a variety of hearts in the animal kingdom. The Creator designed hearts to meet the needs of various creatures. Humans and apes share some similarities in design, so there are similarities in some in hearts as well. Heart diagram, Pixabay /  burlesonmatthew Did they consider other research that says we have heart problems because we evolved from fish ? Asking for a friend. These jaspers first presupposed evolution (and rejected creation), then told a story about the distant past. A few weasel words crept in like may suggest , but ignored the stark differences not only between heart styles. The physical differences between huma

Vitamin C and Evolution

Image
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is essential for human life. Fortunately, it is easy to obtain in the Western world, and the recommended intake is less than 100 mg. It helps the immune system and is important in other areas. What is the first thing that comes to mind when vitamin C is mentioned? For me, oranges. The average person who eats a healthy diet probably does not need a supplement, as it is found in many foods. It is not stored in our bodies. Since humans cannot synthesize vitamin C, is is suggested as evidence for evolution. Assorted citrus fruits, Pixabay / Roberto Justo Kabana Most plants and animals can make their own vitamin C, but it has been evosplained that humans and some animals lost that ability way back in time. It involves a mutation. When using this to support evolution, their reasoning is fundamentally flawed. One big monkey wrench in the works is that humans and apes supposedly evolved from a common ancestor. Our closest supposed evolutionary cousin is the chimpanzee

Tales of Tails of Supposed Human Ancestors

Image
Something that puts a burr under my saddle is the insistence by evolutionists that we did not come from monkeys, and creationists do not want us to say that, either. It is because we are to accurately represent what they believe. Okay, I get that. But it gets a bit difficult. Study on this: Our alleged ancestors and relatives sure did look like monkeys, and some had tails. Specifically, evolutionists say that although monkeys, apes, and humans had a common ancestor, we diverged millions of years ago — and we lost our tails somewhere along the line. Ring-tailed lemur, Pexels / Magda Ehlers Which  supposed ancestor and when  the tail loss occurred, nobody knows. There is no evidence, but the story requires these things. A loyal Darwinist in the media wrote, indicating that there is kinda-sorta a link between tail loss and a birth defect, and genetics. Sounds like faith. Unfortunately, the faith of secularists is in their narrative, and whatever it takes to deny the work of the Creator. A

Paradigm Shifts in the Life Sciences?

Image
Secular scientists, especially believers in descent with modifications evolution, work from a framework of materialism. They rule out even the possibility of a Creator or of any purpose in life. Of course, having such a priori  presuppositions handcuffs them to the radiator so they cannot work more effectively. Evolution is not supposed to have any sort of teleology. Any appearance of design is just an illusion, secularists must keep telling themselves that because design means a Designer. But reference to purpose does  get put into evolutionary materials. Dental stem cells, Flickr / NIH-NIDCR (public domain) There are discussions about intelligence all the way down to the cellular level. Although there is opposition to seeing purpose and design, if those in the secular science industry should actually "follow where the evidence leads" instead of simply giving lip service to that saying. It would also be a great benefit to medical and other life sciences. Then they may be re

Recapitulating the Pronephros Zombie

Image
Denizens of depths of the the secular science industry keep trying to buffalo the public into believing that Charles Darwin was right, and that there is no Creator — or that he is a bungler if indeed he does exist. It is in their best interests to deny, ignore, or downplay facts against evolution. Grant money. Atheists and other evolutionists also promote outdated and false information. Although vestigial organs  (also called vestigial structures, rudimentary, or useless) were used to validate evolution, they have been debunked. Yet Darwin's disciples continue to zombify them. After I took this picture* in Rosendale, it did not go well, as you see. One way of making a zombie out of the vestigial organ nonsense is to keep acting like it is a valid argument. It came about in the first place because those in medical science did not understand the functions of the organs, so they argued from ignorance and presupposed evolution (circular reasoning). Also, the fake drawings of Ernst Haec

Evolutionary Thinking Wrecks Modern Medicine

Image
There have been numerous ways that evolutionary thinking has harmed medical science, but disciples of the Bearded Buddha claim that it is essential. Not hardly! Such thinking gave us harmful thinking about vestigial organs such as the appendix and thymus , and "junk" DNA hindered needed research. If you study on it a spell, the idea of actively integrating a historical belief system that is based on presumptions rather than evidence is risible (see " The Farce of Evolutionary Medicine "). Also, secularists refuse to learn from their colossal errors. Modified from a medical science photograph on Pixnio The materialistic mindset has affected modern medicine. Like in the secular science industry, there are individuals who want to do a good job but are caught up on the money-making machinations of organizations. Talk in company break rooms often turns to lousy treatment by doctors, staff, and especially agencies. When I had my heart surgery, I felt like a piece of mea

Pseudogenes and Dead-End Darwinism

Image
Stevia Dolce, the lead baker at the Darwin Ranch up yonder near Deception Pass, surprised me with a visit. She brought Dekker Halls, who was visiting for the Christmas season. They heard talk about pseudogenes that did not sit right with them and wanted to ask me. After digging into the fabulous croissants that Stevia brought, we commenced to discussing the problem. Evolutionary thinking is bad for medical science, and even science itself. Scientists studied DNA, but expected everything to code for proteins. Big mistake. Directional street sign generator at RedKid Like when someone receives a delivery that isn't interesting, "Just set it over there" and it gets forgotten. These things called pseudogenes  look like genes, but did not work the way Darwinists expected. "Why do you say Darwinists , Cowboy Bob?" Dekker asked. "Nobody really believes classical Darwinism anymore." I replied, "True, but it has a couple of uses. The first one is for simpli

Eyes, and Evolution Falsified Again

Image
Believers in universal common descent evolution appear to have cognitive difficulties, or mayhaps it is bravado. I say this because when faced with data they cannot explain, deep-time anomalies, theories shown to be false, they pretend to receive good news and something important about evolution has been learned. Indeed, fundamentalist evolutionists may shuffle the deck and deal again, but they do not question if the deck is valid in the first place — the deck being evolution. They need to cowboy up and question evolution itself. Fighter pilot with nice eyes wearing an oxygen mask, Flickr / Aviatrix (public domain) In their determination to give praise to Papa Darwin, some of his disciples compared the eyes of mammals with those of cephalopods. Interesting that people and critters have two eyes, but many like birds and cuttlefish use each eye independently — but some cuttlefish occasionally use stereoscopic vision. The differences in eyes also means the organisms with them need to hav

The Human Brain is Amazing and Baffling

Image
So many thing that have been studied, possibly even considered to have been fully understood, became disunderstood later on. Some models of the atom were proposed in seemingly rapid succession, Schrödinger's quantum model being the current favorite. Genetics was begun by Gregor Mendel (peas be upon him) and continues to be developed — and challenging to scientists. Both of these testify to the genius of the Creator. Something else that when scientists are understanding it, theories become frustrated is: The human brain. X-ray-style image of skull and brain, Freeimages / Miranda Knox In A. Conan Doyle's "The Blue Carbuncle," Sherlock Holmes stated the myth that people with larger skulls are more intelligent . People who are analytical use the left side of their brains more, and intuitive people use the right side. But that notion is disputed, and sometimes the brain rewires itself. There are people who live their lives not knowing that significant portions of their bra

The Beneficent Mystery of Sleep

Image
Sleep is something we may take for granted or even resent its intrusion. Others find it a way to escape from the troubles of daily life for a while. Sometimes it simply feels good. While it is considered a restful state, there is a great deal of unconscious activity happening. There are many studies of what happens during sleep and that it or something similar is vital to most creatures. One evolutionist said that sleep is our default state, and that we evolved wakefulness. No science there, just narrative-friendly speculation. Sleeping jaguar, Pixabay / edmondlafoto Getting the proper amount of sleep on a regular basis is essential, and we feel the effects when deprived. Sluggishness, dull thinking, irritability, and so on. My experience is pertinent here. Since my beloved Charlene was stricken and died shortly afterward, I have one of many results of acute grief: poor sleep. This affects decision making, coherence, writing, and so much more. A good night's sleep is rare for me. F

The Vital Vagus Nerve

Image
Unlike the numerous details about the human body that are being discovered because of advanced technology and better research skills, the vagus nerve has been known for a mighty long time. But advanced technology and better research skills are revealing its complexity. The vagus nerve is not the vaguest nerve, being the longest cranial nerve and connecting to a huge number of other nerves. It is used to regulate many important bodily functions. This work may be impeded by various conditions and factors. Modified illustration of laryngeal and vagus nerves, WikiComm / derived by Jkwchui ( CC BY-SA 3.0 ) Scientists are discovering that the vagus nerve has several diverse but vital functions, and because of conditions or damage it may not work as designed every time. External stimulators with targeted applications can help it along with epilepsy, depression, and more. When biblical creationists and the Intelligent Design folks point out that certain things of specified complexity defy evo

Ethical Difficulties in Organ Harvesting

Image
This post is about some uncomfortable subjects, and I need to bring in something exceptionally painful to myself. Many people are organ donors. For me, it is marked on my driver's license. My wife Charlene was uncomfortable with it and refused, but I do not care if I go into eternity hollowed out. Ethics and morality play a big part in this. No, it is not wrong to be a donor! The problems are when organ harvesters may ignore the policies against abuse, or even hasten the process. Indeed, a few people who have been declared brain dead have recovered . MRI brain images, Pexels / Anna Shvets For some people, this part is a repeat of previous information, so I'll keep the background narrative short. When my wife was recovering from a routine surgery, I received a phone call just before midnight. She had a "cardiac event." Actually, it was a heart attack and stroke. The MRI showed massive brain damage and there was no hope of recovery. But she was not technically brain dea

The Farce of Evolutionary Medicine

Image
Darwinists dutifully repeat the title of an essay by Theodosius Dobzhansky that "Nothing in Biology Makes Sense Except in the Light of Evolution," then smile smugly as if they cited a creation-destroying maxim. Actually, evolution is scarce in college textbooks in life sciences . It is useless when it is not harmful in medicine. As I mentioned elsewhere, nobody consulted or referenced the Darwin oracle during my extended stay in the hospital. At least, not in my presence or to discuss my treatment plan.  Darwin spirit and medical science modified from a photograph at Pixnio It's a good thing evolution is scarce in textbooks considering all the harm that evolutionary thinking has produced in medical science. For example, the  vestigial organs concept has been refuted . Using faulty presuppositions, evolutionists stifled research because they declared  large portions of DNA to be "junk ." Don't forget the risible thinking that  heart problems exist  because of

Your Inner Fish — and Heart Problems

Image
This post is about hearts. Mine is broken. Yesterday, my wife died from complications after surgery. She is now with Jesus and others who have gone on before. That takes some of the edge off my immense sorrow. Please pray for me and all I have to deal with in the next few weeks. Long before she was stricken, I wrote this post. Interestingly, I learned that she was greatly distressed over my time away for heart surgery. Now it is the opposite. She expected me to return home, now I will meet her in our eternal home... One of the most outrageous comments I ever saw from an atheist was regarding how a biblical creationist should not be allowed in the space program. The reason? A Christian's beliefs may cause him to do stupid things and jeopardize lives of astronauts or wreck space probes and such. Obviously, he did not know what creationists actually believe, so he filled up on bigotry and prejudicial conjecture — without evidence. What if we applied the same reasoning to fish-to-fool

No Sign of Evolution for Neurons

Image
Neurologists confidently put their pinky fingers to the corners of their mouths when announcing that humans have one hundred billion  neurons. Those nerves obtain information from the outside world so the brain can sort it out and direct muscles. They communicate with other cells via synapses. Ever strike a match and hold it too long, then yelp and throw it away when you got burned? Neurons are involved. Also, it may come as a shock to learn that there is an electrical component to neurons. GnRH neuron, B. Ian Hutchins and Susan Wray , public domain Believers in baryon-to-brain surgeon evolution presuppose everything evolved from simple to complex. It was thought that neurons evolved from cells called choanocytes  because of superficial similarities between them and nerve cells. Interestingly, although there has been a marked increase of late in fossilized soft tissue, there is not enough to attempt to trace the alleged evolution of neurons. They conveniently overlook living fossils —

Dump Darwin to Save Science

Image
Some folks are so determined to negate evolution doubters, they find little things to complain about. One is word selection. They take exception to evolution  and Darwin  in an effort to strut their imagined intellectual superiority. Those are for reference, and you know exactly what we are talking about. Stop making excuses to avoid dealing with uncomfortable content. You savvy? We have seen many times that good research has been tainted by homage to Darwin, as if seeking the Real Science™ squeal of approval. Indeed, many evolutionists hide behind evolution in an effort to obfuscate their inferior research; " It evolved " is not science. Darwin trash dumpster fire, Flickr /  Cowboy Bob Sorensen  ( CC BY-NC 2.0 ) In my last article about that hospital stay , I mentioned how nobody discussed evolution in my hearing during all that time. Darwin is useless at best to medical science. It is also a fact that evolutionary thinking is proven to be harmful  to medicine. It would be f

Providential Timing, Death Warmed Over, and the Question Evolution Project

Image
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen There have been a few remarks posted of late about my recent surprise heart tests and eventual triple bypass surgery, and I may do a series on another weblog about those experiences. In a few social(ist) media places, I mentioned that I could die during the treadmill stress test, the heart catheter (mayhaps I did not mention that part), and the surgery itself. There is always  a risk, and I made it clear that I was ready to meet Jesus. Yes, I used the opportunities for some evangelism. But the risk of death was much lower than I thought. Unwashed, thirsty, looking like death warmed over the day I was released from hospital, background from Pixlr At  The Question Evolution Project , I was working by my lonesome and was besieged by trolls with atheism spectrum disorder. A former Admin of TQEP sent me a telegram saying that he had opportunities to help. Groovy! Then I went away. Tooth infection, taking antibiotic Antibiotic causes stomach upset Awakened at 04:00 wit

No Heart for Evolution

Image
Written on 10 August 2023.  Lots of waiting in this here hospital bed, but I am getting open-heart surgery on the of the eleventh. Please pray. Although I am ready to see Jesus face-to-face, my wife has medical problems and needs help right now. It is easy to take the heart for granted. When there is a problem (such as learning I could have a heart attack in the next thirty days), we pay more attention to that important organ that keeps us alive. Numerous features are designed to do an extremely difficult job all of our lives. An honest scrutiny shows that the heart defies neutrons-to-nurse evolution and testifies of the Master Engineer. Heart diagram, Pixabay / burlesonmatthew In the linked article, we learn about three obstacles for the heart to overcome. First, yes, it's a pump, but this bad boy is actually two pumps in one. Second, it has to stay put without banging around and overheating. Third, it's always going. Yes, everything was very good  at creation, but Adam's
