Feather Origins Remain a Mystery to Evolutionists

It seems that many believers in universal common descent are willfully ignorant of problems in evolution, choosing to believe despite the evidence. Indeed, my encounters with evolutionists on social(ist) media reveal faith statements of how they accept evolution. Period. I can easily imagine them writing such misplaced faith statements on "science" platforms with beatific smiles and genuflection.

Are such true believers denying the facts, such as how scientists cannot explain the origins of feathers? They have been studying them for a mighty long time, you know.

Because of the presupposition that all life evolved from a common ancestor, the idea that feathers evolved from fish scales seems slightly less absurd. Also, there are different kinds of scales, so which kind supposedly brought forth feathers? Keep in mind that a tenet of evolution is gradual change over long periods of time. The fossil record should show feathers developing from simple to complex. Ain't happening, Zeke.

There are different types of feathers used for different purposes. Contour feathers help birds keep their shape, down keeps them warm — and flight feathers, can't forget them. A feather is a complex structure, and biblical creationists point out that the granddaddy of all feathers had to be irreducibly complex from the get-go. There is no sign of evolution because evolution didn't happen. Feathers and the birds under them were created on the fifth day of creation week.

The current theory is that feathers evolved from fish scales. The problem is that a transition from scales to feathers requires an enormous number of chemical, structural, and morphological changes. A new analysis of the problem by the Natural History Museum of London concluded that, in spite of over a century of work on the problem, “The origin of feathers remains a mystery.” In fact, not just the ‘how’ is a mystery, but also the ‘when’ of feather evolution.

The importance of the research on the origin of feathers was described by Professor Ping Wu of the University of Southern California (Los Angeles, CA) in 2017 who wrote: “The origin of feathers is an important question in Evo-Devo studies, with the eventual evolution of vaned feathers which are aerodynamic.”
