SETI Non-Progress Report

While it has been discussed at length that believers in atoms-to-alien evolution have an incoherent worldview, they do try to live it. (Of course, morality and such cannot be rationally explained by atheistic materialism, so they have to draw from the Christian worldview.) Study on it a spell and see that evolutionists believe that the Big Bang ultimately gave rise to life (“You are star stuff, and to star stuff you will return," said Carl Sagan). Other stars had alien races evolve, so we should be able to detect them.

Many organizations and individuals around the globe have been interested in the search for extraterrestrial intelligence, and NASA is one of those. They even have an astrobiology section, though there is no astro to biologize — no alien life to study. NASA had a SETI section that had its government funding cut, restored, cut, then funded through private contributions.

The beginning listeners for alien signals used the latest technology available. Sure, why not? SETI keeps attempting to find space aliens through faith, donations, and current technology. A recent effort was impressive, and resulted in a big steaming pile of...nothing. They never will find what they're looking for, and need to humble themselves before the Creator.

Frank Drake launched the first SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) program in 1960. Drake realized that humans had been broadcasting radio transmissions for a few decades. Hence, if astronomers existed on alien worlds in nearby star systems, within a few tens of lights years away, then they could detect humanity’s existence by intercepting radio broadcasts from earth. Drake turned this around by attempting to eavesdrop on alien civilizations. Drake began using large radio telescopes (which were new technology at that time in 1960) to look for possible radio transmissions from civilizations like ours that might be on planets orbiting stars. With advancements in technology, this research has blossomed. But as I’ve previously reported, there are no positive results.
