Wicked Imaginings of Evolution

There was some excitement at the Darwin Ranch the other day, and foreman Rusty Swingset rode over to my digs to get me his ownself. Lisa Myworries, the Winkie Guards supervisor, was near emotional collapse. "But why does she need you?" Rusty asked. I had no answer.

Her job is stressful and that was compounded when some of the guards got rebellious. Some of the ranch hands were walking and talking about how they "saw" evolution, and those guards demanded to know where the real evolution was. It did not go well.

Disciples of Darwin claim to see evolution in many situations, but they are wickedly and deceptively conflating change with the general theory.

Although Rusty, his assistant Cliff Swallows, and some of the other higher-ups at the Darwin Ranch can be decent sorts, Lisa and I have a bit of a rapport. It turns out that she was agreeing with the Winkie Guards who expressed (in their limited vocabulary and speaking abilities) doubt that what is called evolution really is evolution.

That is a subject we have discussed numerous times on this here weblog. Other biblical creationists discuss it as well. Sometimes it becomes difficult to discern whether or not Darwin's disciples are deluded or deceptive when simple changes, speciation, and even natural selection are observed and then labeled as evolution. That's conflation, old son. Evolution in the Darwinian minerals-to-microscopist evolution is something else, but by wrongly calling those things evolution, they are wickedly misleading others — and possibly themselves. Propaganda is important to them.

Before reading the following science news articles, realize that Darwinian evolution is about much more than change within species, or change within genera or families. Even young-earth creationists accept that level of variation. It’s about the creation of novel traits (innovations) of significant enough complexity to push animals upward and onward into higher levels of structure and function. This would require big changes, like new senses, new organs, new limbs, wings, or body plans that never existed before.
